ABTEC’s planned vertical integration begins unusually close to the raw material. By sourcing suitable timber near its origin and manufacturing lamellas specifically for ABTEC products, the company seeks greater control over material quality, utilization, consistency, supply, and cost.
That control continues through CLT manufacturing, precision CNC fabrication, increasingly complete components and Hybrid CLT Sub-Assemblies, sequencing, logistics, and assembly.

ABTEC does not require a building to become an all-timber structure. Concrete should be used where concrete makes sense. Steel should be used where steel makes sense. Mass timber should be used where mass timber creates greater value — and an all-mass-timber solution can be used where the project calls for it.
This flexibility lowers the barrier to adoption and expands the number of projects ABTEC can serve.
TimberShield™ is part of ABTEC’s broader product-protection strategy. Where technically appropriate and supported by final product testing, approvals, and project requirements, protection can be incorporated as an engineered part of the product rather than treated as a jobsite afterthought.
ABTEC’s initial manufacturing Campus is conceived as a high-volume American manufacturing platform rather than simply a building containing CLT equipment. The production architecture is designed to expand in phases as demand warrants, with automation applied where it improves throughput, quality, safety, or repeatability.
The objective is not more machinery. It is greater utilization of the machinery already in the production system.
ABTEC creates value by progressively increasing what is manufactured into the product: raw material becomes engineered material; engineered material becomes a precision-manufactured component; components can become integrated sub-assemblies; and sub-assemblies become part of a building system.
ABTEC can therefore grow in two reinforcing ways: by manufacturing more product and by manufacturing more value into every product.
ABTEC’s first responsibility is execution: build the Campus, commission the manufacturing system, establish the timber supply chain, recruit and train the workforce, establish production, serve customers, and build operating history.
The first Campus is intended to be maximized before replication. Additional capacity and future Campuses should follow sustained demand and economics.
The objective is not simply to build a large CLT factory. The objective is to build a great American manufacturing company.
